frills + thrills: JUNE

happy monday, yall!
i know we usually gripe about mondays. i mean, there’s about 5,000 different sassy sayings to back us up. but recently i’ve been taking a different mental approach to monday. why not choose to look at monday as a fresh start, a new battle to conquer or a new goal to crush, perhaps?
it’s funny, just the other day as i was driving to a coffee shop in downtown santa monica to get some work done, i passed a mural of abraham lincoln & his quote,
“most folks are as happy as they make their minds up to be.”
so this monday i challenge you to make your mind up to be POSITIVE. go put on your big girl panties, get yourself a strong cup of coffee & HUSTLE.
since we’re having a positive outlook on monday, i thought i’d share a little round up five frills & thrills i’ve been loving for the month of june. it’s been awhile since i’ve done a “frills & thrills” post, so if you’re new here i’ll clue you in! from now on at the end of every month (fingers crossed) i’ll be sharing five little frills or thrills (like things/places/activities/etc.) that have brought me joy in some way during that month. whether it be a new garment, a favorite coffee shop, website, or maybe some new dish i tried at a local restaurant.
( and yes, i know it’s 10 days into july…next month i’ll try to be a little bit more punctual. )
sooooooo let’s jump on in!

  1. little remi

being away from my lil pup is probably one of the hardest things about being away this summer. it wouldn’t be so bad if she was already grown up, but because she’s still a puppy i feel like i’m missing out on so much. luckily, my momma and sister send me pictures and videos of her almost daily so that i’m kept in the loop with all her progress.
i mean, would you want to leave this sweet sweet face?

2. lashes lashes lashes

call me materialistic, but i have LOVED getting my lashes done. it’s something i’m going to try to continue doing once i move home not only because it makes me feel pretty, but because it makes life so dang easy. if there’s one thing i hate most about makeup, it’s mascara. my eyelashes suck, mascara is annoying, and who wouldn’t want one less thing to do?
i love being able to just wash my face and go if necessary. it makes me feel like i’m more pulled together even on no-makeup days.
if you’re in the LA area, my girl tiffany does house calls! message her and mention me for a discount!

3. lark skincare

if you haven’t noticed, i’ve been obsessed with skincare recently. which isn’t too much of a bad thing, because it is SO important to start taking care of your skin sooner rather than later. lisa from lark skin co. sent me some fun goodies to try out, and i’ve been IN LOVE! pictured below are the aloe + lime toner, lavender + mint lotion bar & beauty balm (which are all phenomenal!), but i haven’t tried a lark product i didn’t like.
PS: i use the beauty balm as a nighttime moisturizer under my eyes (like in my easy everyday skincare routine), but it has like 75 uses! i swear!

4. pinterest

yanno, i occasionally do a “pin-spiration” post featuring a topic i’ve been pinning recently. but honestly i’ve been going crazy on pinterest lately. i find it’s slightly more productive than just scrolling through social media..i mean at least i’m decorating my dream home, planning my future wedding, and hypothetically cooking tons of yummy meals. oh! and of course filling my “online closet” with all the best outfits. 😉

here are my favorite boards to pin to!

get trendy.
get homey.
get adventurous.

5. the everygirl

y’all. if you don’t follow this site, you need to. i find myself on the everygirl almost everyday. it’s just a huge site full of guidance and info on just about every topic. i actually pinned their LA travel guide up above on my “get adventurous.” board! they write about everything from food, to travel, to health and wellness, to how to be a #girlboss. basically if you need some help, they’ve most likely gotcha. 🙂
