today’s look..the art of being a loner.

i survived week one, y’all!
well, not that i thought i wouldn’t survive. i mean it’s not like i’m roughing it and working for some crazy person. i’ve been so incredibly blessed to live in such a nice place with such wonderful people and to work with an absolutely amazing woman.
i could go on and on about all i learned this week and things i did, but i’ll spare you. ūüėČ
(but if you do want to hear all about it let’s go get coffee, give me a ring, OH! or be my penpal.)
i will clue you in on one thing i’m learning though: the art of being a loner.
okay, that sounds so pitiful, but i promise you it’s not! i cherish “em time” and to know that a lot of this summer will be just that makes me SO excited.
i love adventuring on my own when i get the chance. coming from college where i’m constantly surrounded by dear friends, & my precious boyfriend, to the bustling city of los angeles where i only truly know four people, i just had to kind of adapt to making it on my own. so much selfgrowth and discovery can happen when you are pushed out of your comfort zone. you find out what YOU believe in, what your faith is rooted in, what your true passions are. and i’m quite looking forward to that.
(sidenote: i’m not even going to talk about getting lonely, because loneliness sucks. absolutely sucks, but you learn that it’s only temporary. okay, moving on…)
so yeah, maybe i’ll be doing a lot on my own, learning to be a loner, and who knows maybe i’ll make some friends along the way. in the end, i know that the lord has big plans for this summer and that by the end of it my relationship with him will be the strongest it’s ever been, my love for bud will be 10x greater (distance makes the heart grow fonder, yanno?) & i will be an all around better me than before.
so here’s to the art of being a loner!
as for today’s look, the adventures are just beginning, y’all!! these gorgeous photos were taken up in montecito, california earlier this week by my new friend/boss lady #2/photographer kat hennessey¬†(she is FAB, y’all, so go give her a follow), and i’m obsessed.

bar cart inspiration.

just sharing my latest obsession with y’all today.
i don’t really know why all of a sudden i wanted to create my own bar cart, but i do. maybe it’s because i’m 21 now or because my roomie just graduated and took hers with her. but all i know is that there is a bid empty spot in my living room that is screaming to be filled with something pretty.
i’ve pulled some of my recent pins for inspiration, and made a little collage of wishlist items that i think i want to use to style my own bar cart.
however, please note that these items are pretty inspirational and i’ll probably end up buying cheaper options off amazon. LOL ya girl is still ballin’ on a budget here.

today’s look..retro flare.

is anyone else obsessed with the flare trend that’s back or is it just me?
i searched and searched for what i deemed the “right” pair, and trust me I FOUND THEM. thanks to a little instagram creeping and page stalking, measuring myself and re-measuring (just in case), getting them in once, finding out i ordered the wrong size, sending them back and getting the right ones….i finally got my pants!
(link below!)
seriously though, how cute are these?! i call these my star pants for obvious reasons, and never fail to point out the fact that i have a star on my butt. lol
also, i’ve been wearing this top nonstop recently. it’s so comfy and this okstate gal can’t ever say no to some orange.
