MY HONEST REVIEW OF RENT THE RUNWAY

i can’t tell you how many times i’ve been asked, “so what do you REALLY think of Rent the Runway?”, “do you ACTUALLY like RTR?” or “is it actually WORTH IT?” in the past month. well if you’ve been wondering the same thing, grab a snack and settle in because i’m spilling the tea today in my HONEST review of Rent the Runway.

let me give you a little back story on RTR and i’s relationship. i’ve known about RTR since high school. i actually thought about renting my prom dress (& totally should have) a time or two. and i didn’t think about this until now, but definitely should have rented ALL my professional attire throughout college, because in my industry we’re all, well, a little more fashion forward.

since then we’ve been flirting A LOT. a coworker of mine (who dresses SO CHIC) reintroduced me to RTR last fall, and after a couple months of internal debating and asking her way too many questions, i used her referral code to try out my first month (january) of RTR Unlimited. which is the ONLY way to go, but more on that later

and y’all…..this thing is LIFE CHANGING.

if you’re like me and constantly like having new things to wear, especially to work or special events, RTR is for you. it’s not that i don’t like wearing things more than once (ask my LBD i’ve had since high school), it’s the thrill of getting new stuff and not having to commit to keeping it.

Rent the Runway has three rental/membership options: RTR Reserve, Update & Unlimited.

– RESERVE: is for those one off rentals. you’re renting one item, probably for a special occasion, have it for 4 or 8 days and then return it. easy. / starts at $30+ per rental

– UPDATE: is for the wardrobe update here and there. choose 4 pieces (valued up to $350/piece) from the 10,000+ available to you, swap them out every month or keep them as long as you like. / refresh your closet for $89/month

– UNLIMITED: is for the babe we talked about above! choose 4 pieces at a time (valued up to $3000/piece) from the 15,000+ available to you, swap them out as often as you want or keep them as long as you want. / shop weekly for $159/month

your pieces come to you on hangers, in plastic garment bags and shipped in a really nice cloth garment bag. it zips shut and has handles for easy carrying.

once you are ready for new things, you can either ship them back in the garment bag (throw those plastic bags back in there too and they will recycle them!) with the provided return label, OR if you live near a nordstrom drop off location or RTR store, you can scan them in and open your rental spots back up instantly! for my dallas girls, the northpark and galleria nordstroms are drop off locations! if you live anywhere else in DFW, there’s an RTR warehouse in arlington, so your stuff should only have a 1 day shipping time.

i’m honestly not sure what else i can say to convey how AMAZING this service is. like why didn’t i think of this? i’m headed on a business trip in a couple weeks and you can bet that i’ll have four RTR outfits with me! let’s just say i’ll be renting for quite a while.
