you know we’re all about classic, staple pieces over here at Love Emmarie, and you don’t get much more classic than a black blazer. but what’s the point of having a closet full of essentials when you don’t know how to style them?
in this post i’m showing you how to style a black blazer with SEVEN different outfits, but really you could combine any of these looks together and have an infinite number of options. and this is only for spring and summer!
oversized, boyfriend blazers have been trendy for a while now, and trust me when i tell you i’ve been on the hunt for the perfect one. i’ve tried so many and of course ended up finding this gem at the thrift store!
PRO TIP: dig through the men’s suit section at thrift stores for blazers/suit jackets. you’ll get TOP NOTCH quality for under $20.
SEVEN WAYS TO STYLE A BLACK BLAZER FOR SPRING & SUMMER
comfy & casual. i picked up this cropped tank last weekend and i’ve decided that i now need it in every color. paired with my ALL TIME FAVORITE jeans and classic white sneakers, you really can’t go wrong with this combo.
taking another summer uniform and edging up just a bit. trust me, you’ll feel like a total badass in look like this. something about the boots and blazer combo has me feeling extra SASSY. bonus: you’ve probably already got these pieces in your closet!
i’ve gotta be honest, i felt kind of off wearing a blazer with athleisure at first. it felt way too dressy for my leggings and crew socks combo, but THAT’S THE BEAUTY of it. the juxtaposition of sporty and dressy is a street style dream come true. you’ll look like you tried so hard to look cool, when in reality you didn’t are you just are cool. 😉
silk scarves have been a HOT ITEM this season. wear it in your hair, on your handbag, or tie it 37+ different ways as a top. this is actually a little bandeau i bought from beehive boutique a couple years ago, but a scarf would work just the same! think you need a little more coverage? tie it over a white tee or tank.
a combo of LOOK ONE and LOOK TWO. when in doubt, throw on some basics. they’ll never steer you wrong.
another athleisure look getting spiced up with an oversized blazer. you’ll feel like such a COOL GIRL in this outfit (well cooler than you already are). i love the length of these biker shorts by the way. a 7″ inseam is the way to go.
little cotton dresses are a staple in my closet every spring & summer. you can dress them up or down, and this look is a prime example of dressing them up! how cute would this look be for a date night or dinner with the girls?
