i know you know that two-piece sets (often called co-ords) are THE THING right now, and honestly, thank the lord they are because getting dressed has never been easier.
my favorite matching set right now is a lightweight button down & shorts set made of shirting material. — i’m calling these boxer sets for lack of a better term. think oversized button down and matching boxer shorts made of the same shirt. i love how breezy and casual (almost pajama like) they are while being totally versatile.
i’ve been wearing mine just out and about casually, but boxer sets would be perfect for beach vacation or as a swimsuit cover-up.
HOW TO STYLE A MATCHING BOXER SET:
styling tip – i almost always roll or push up the sleeves if the shirt is long sleeved. the texas heat basically demands it. — short sleeves would look cute cuffed or left as is.
1.
pair the set with a tank (cropped or not..it’s up to you) and casual sneakers.
2.
button 2-3 of the middle shirt buttons and either half tuck or front tuck the shirt into the matching shorts. pair with sneakers or neutral slide sandals.
3.
button 2 buttons toward the top of the shirt leaving the bottom open. style with sandals or western style booties if you’re feeling edgy.
4.
tie two ends of the shirt together right above the waistband of your shorts. leave all buttons undone or button one or two for coverage. add sandals or espadrilles to finish the look.
