well, babes, it’s been officially fall for almost two week now..someone needs to clue mother nature in on the season change, because it’s still 90 degrees here in dallas. but you know me and that doesn’t stop me from throwing on boots and a sweater and heading to the dallas farmer’s market! (even though i was dripping sweat by the end of this shoot.)
remember earlier in the summer when i shared the summer edition of my dallas bucket list? well, y’all loved it so much that i decided to continue the list on into FALL!
THE DALLAS BUCKET LIST: FALL EDITION.
STATE FAIR OF TEXAS
the #1 thing on my to-do list EVERY OCTOBER. i live for the fair. #notashamed
GO TO A PUMPKIN PATCH
there are so many pumpkin patches in DFW! here’s a few good ones, but honestly there’s one (or more in every suburb!) — just google “DFW pumpkin patch” and you’ll be SET.
the big orange pumpkin farm @ preston trail farm, the patch @ the dallas farmer’s market, hall’s pumpkin patch in grapevine & yesterland farm in canton
HAVE PICNIC SOMEWHERE SCENIC
would you believe me if i told you that i’ve never been on a picnic? i have this vision of laying out a blanket by the lake at sunset, a big basket full of meats & cheeses for a beautiful charcuterie board, a bottle of wine…ugh y’all. i’m dreaming!
ATTEND FRIGHT FEST (or if you’re all in..a HAUNTED HOUSE)
ya girl does NOT do haunted houses. i’ll go to fright fest at six flags (mildly scary) but you can count me out of haunted houses, corn mazes, etc. i’m always down for a good scary movie though!
WATCH ALL MY FAVORITE HALLOWEEN/SCARY MOVIES.
hocus pocus (DUH), halloween town, insidious (all of them!), the nightmare before christmas, mom’s got a date with a vampire, the corpse bride, the haunted mansion, etc!
i also want to watch more of the classic scary movies that i’ve never seen! you know, those old ones that really aren’t that scary. LOL
LONE STAR HORSE RACES
we had a double date planned to go to the races earlier this summer, but it was 109* the day we planned to go and they postponed the races. THANK GOODNESS. but we definitely want to go once the weather cools down!
AUTUMN AT THE ARBORETUM
if you have no idea what i’m talking about, go look up photos of “autumn at the arboretum.” SO FREAKING BEAUTIFUL. i am for sure heading down to the arboretum to check it out before november 21.
they also have a concert series thursday nights during the fall! purchase your tickets on their site. i swear this isn’t sponsored….i’m just very into fall. lol
GO TO A FOOTBALL GAME
if this wasn’t already obvious.
BAKE A PIE…OR THREE
an apple pie to be specific. joanna gaines, do you have a recipe?
BUT SERIOUSLY. if anyone has an amazing apple pie recipe that they’d like to share, please send it my way!
KEEP A GRATITUDE JOURNAL
my goal with this is to start with keeping a daily gratitude journal for at least the month of november, but i’d love to keep up with it for as long as i can. 🙂
okay, that’s all for now, but check back throughout the season as i may add more fun fall things to do in DFW!
