CALLING ALL BRIDESMAIDS & MAID OF HONORS!! i’m so excited to share a look into the san antonio bachelorette party i threw my fave bride-to-be, taylor, back in december! i’m not quite sure how we settled on san antonio being the destination for the weekend, but we did and it was FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC.
we had bridesmaids and girlfriends in every direction so we tried to keep it centrally located (this is key for getting max participation). we also wanted to stick to a lower budget! now i know you probably don’t think of san antonio as a hotspot for bachelorette parties, so i thought i’d share all the details on our weekend!
not planning a bachelorette party? these spots are still great for a weekend getaway!
WHERE TO STAY
we tossed around several lodging ideas, ultimately deciding to splurge a little and stay at the La Cantera Resort & Spa. let me tell you about BEAUTIFUL. i had been here a couple of times with my boyfriend for drinks and i had been dying at the chance to stay here. i knew the girls would LOVE IT! plus, it just made a little more sense with all the accommodations, restaurants, shops and activities both at the resort and nearby — great for if you are relying on the resort shuttle or uber to get around. (PS: we were the self proclaimed “shuttle queens” we took the shuttle so much. LOL)
a couple other resort options in the area are the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort & Spa and the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort & Spa. both beautiful, just in different areas of the city!
if you were wanting to go the traditional hotel route, downtown is FULL of AMAZING places to stay. hotel emma at the pearl, the grand hyatt, the st. anthony hotel – just to name a few.
also, there’s obviously a BUNCH of cute airbnb’s in san antonio/hill country if you wanted to be able to prepare meals, have more space, etc.
WHAT TO DO
let me tell you we did A LOT in the short weekend we were in town…or at least it feels like it.
here’s a quick glimpse into the itinerary i made for us!
now, it is important to remember that everything may not go exactly as planned. i told the girls right off the bat that while some of the itinerary was set in stone, a lot of it was tentative and could change depending on how we were feeling. here’s a list of all the places we ate, where we shopped and activities we did during our san antonio bachelorette weekend.
WHERE TO DINE
i’ve included all the places we ate, PLUS extra places i know are just as yummy!
FOR BRUNCH & LUNCH:
MASH’D – moonshine ANYTHING.
Whiskey Cake – i haven’t yet been for brunch but i’ve heard it’s killer.
La Gloria – the house margarita’s are A MUST HAVE.
The Gristmill – a great dinner or lunch spot right on the river in historic gruene. this is out in new braunfels, but worth the quick drive and a good place to spend the day!
Tiago’s – super yummy tex mex and the BEST chocolate cake you’ll ever eat.
FOR DINNER:
The Rustic – great indoor/outdoor atmosphere with live music! the drunk chick & peanut butter pie are my must haves!
Fleming’s Steakhouse – all around amazing steakhouse! we had a fancier night out here on saturday and it did not disappoint.
Cured – everything’s delicious. end of story.
Southerleigh – right down the street from Cured at the Pearl; i haven’t been yet, but people RAVE.
Huisache Grill – super yummy little hole in the wall in new braunfels.
FOR DRINKS:
La Cantera – if you are staying here, check out the lobby bar for amazing cocktails!
Hotel Emma – don’t underestimate this hotel bar. it has the coolest industrial, modern atmosphere and even better craft cocktails.
Blue Box Bar – also in the Pearl…can you tell i love the Pearl?
Howl at the Moon – classic dueling piano bar downtown. get ready to have a BLAST.
WHERE TO SHOP
my favorite areas to shop are The Shops at La Cantera (conveniently right now the hill from the resort!) and the Quarry. if you wander up to gruene, new braunfels or fredericksburg, make sure you have time to walk around! there are so many cute little boutiques!
party favor details:
cups (these are cute from amazon!) / “last fling” banner (i wrote the letters on a plain banner) – but here’s so many more cute options! / gold door streamers / bride/bride’s babe shirts / bridal sash / canvas makeup bags (i wrote the girls’ names!) / ring confetti
PS: my girl shelby from FLAWLESS TANS DALLAS gave taylor and i the BEST spray tans before we left that weekend. 10/10 would recommend her!
