the art of being a loner.

i survived week one, y’all!
well, not that i thought i wouldn’t survive. i mean it’s not like i’m roughing it and working for some crazy person. i’ve been so incredibly blessed to live in such a nice place with such wonderful people and to work with an absolutely amazing woman.
i could go on and on about all i learned this week and things i did, but i’ll spare you. 😉
(but if you do want to hear all about it let’s go get coffee, give me a ring, OH! or be my penpal.)
i will clue you in on one thing i’m learning though: the art of being a loner.
okay, that sounds so pitiful, but i promise you it’s not! i cherish “em time” and to know that a lot of this summer will be just that makes me SO excited.
i love adventuring on my own when i get the chance. coming from college where i’m constantly surrounded by dear friends, & my precious boyfriend, to the bustling city of los angeles where i only truly know four people, i just had to kind of adapt to making it on my own. so much selfgrowth and discovery can happen when you are pushed out of your comfort zone. you find out what YOU believe in, what your faith is rooted in, what your true passions are. and i’m quite looking forward to that.
(sidenote: i’m not even going to talk about getting lonely, because loneliness sucks. absolutely sucks, but you learn that it’s only temporary. okay, moving on…)
so yeah, maybe i’ll be doing a lot on my own, learning to be a loner, and who knows maybe i’ll make some friends along the way. in the end, i know that the lord has big plans for this summer and that by the end of it my relationship with him will be the strongest it’s ever been, my love for bud will be 10x greater (distance makes the heart grow fonder, yanno?) & i will be an all around better me than before.
so here’s to the art of being a loner!
as for today’s look, the adventures are just beginning, y’all!! these gorgeous photos were taken up in montecito, california earlier this week by my new friend/boss lady #2/photographer kat hennessey (she is FAB, y’all, so go give her a follow), and i’m obsessed.

  1. Hello! I know this is kinda off topic but I’d figured I’d ask.
Would you be interested in exchanging links or maybe guest writing a blog
post or vice-versa? My site goes over a
lot of the same topics as yours and I believe we could greatly benefit from each other.
If you are interested feel free to shoot me an e-mail. I look forward to hearing from you!
    Awesome blog by the way!
